Ancient Woodland....

Updated: Jul 13, 2019

This image is from a recent two-day visit to The New Forest National Park. This Ancient Woodland is probably my favorite place to be and photograph this time of the year. Still not to many people about, plenty of wide-open spaces to explore with the days starting earlier and lasting longer, the soft light were perfect for the scene and the panoramic format was equal with the composition. The foreground trees were the focal point, but the background trees I felt were just as important, showing the scale and size of this area of the park. One roll of Ilford HP5 was used to capture the image, with frame two being the final choice for exposure, tonality and detail. A second visit is already in the planning and can’t come soon enough. This image has also been added to Portfolio 2 on the website. https://www.tonywainwrightphotography.co.uk/portfolio-2
